Da Nang Train Station: Complete Guides & Tips For Tourists

Da Nang Train Station is one of the most useful transport hubs in Central Vietnam. Located close to the city center, it connects travelers with popular destinations such as Hue, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Nha Trang, Dong Hoi, and other stops along Vietnam’s North–South railway.

Whether you are arriving in Da Nang by train, planning a scenic ride to Hue, or continuing to Hoi An after your journey, this guide covers everything you need to know: location, tickets, facilities, routes, transport options, travel tips, and where to eat after arriving.

Da Nang Train Station Address

Address: 791 Hai Phong, Tam Thuan, Thanh Khe, Da Nang, Vietnam

Da Nang Train Station sits on Hai Phong Street in Thanh Khe District, making it easily accessible from many parts of the city. Its central location allows travelers to reach the station conveniently from hotels, popular attractions, and Da Nang International Airport.

Located about 3 kilometers from the airport and only a short drive from the city center, Da Nang Railway Station is one of the most convenient transport hubs in Central Vietnam. Visitors can easily spot the station thanks to the old steam locomotive displayed near the entrance, which also serves as a familiar landmark for taxi and Grab drivers.

Navigating Da Nang Railway Station

  • Main Building and Platforms: Behind the steam train engine is the main station, featuring e-ticket machines and cafeterias. The station has two platforms accessible via the passenger lounge. The spacious platform includes 200 seats, toilets, and arrival/departure screens.
  • Ticketing Services: Open from 6 am to 11 pm, the ticket office is in a separate building to the left of the main station. It has five ticket counters, a restroom, and an air-conditioned waiting area. You can buy tickets for Da Nang and other destinations in Vietnam.
  • Amenities and Services: Da Nang’s small station has essential facilities: public toilets, a waiting area, and a car park. Inside, three shops sell snacks, drinks, and necessities. A coffee shop in front offers noodles and soups. Most shops close by 5PM, but vending machines outside provide cold drinks.
  • Parking Facilities: The railway station offers 24-hour parking located beside the steam engine, in front of the main building. Officers will guide you upon entry.
  • Luggage and Bike Services: The luggage office is located in a small building next to the ticket office. Here, you can store your bags and arrange to send your motorbike to your destination.

How Do You Get To Da Nang Railway Station?

Getting to Da Nang Railway Station is easy because the station is located on Hai Phong Street, close to Da Nang city center and only a short drive from Da Nang International Airport. The most convenient option for most travelers is to take a taxi or Grab and ask to be dropped off at the main entrance of Da Nang Railway Station or Ga Đà Nẵng. If you are carrying luggage, traveling with family, or arriving close to your departure time, it is best to choose a direct transfer rather than walking or using public transport.

  • By taxi or Grab: This is the easiest and most popular option for tourists. Open your ride-hailing app and search for “Da Nang Railway Station” or “Ga Đà Nẵng.” Before getting in, confirm that the driver will drop you off at the main entrance on Hai Phong Street. This is the best choice if you have luggage or are coming from the airport, beach area, or your hotel.
  • By private car or hotel transfer: If you are staying at a hotel, resort, or coming from Hoi An, ask your accommodation to arrange a private transfer to the station. This option is more comfortable and reliable, especially for early-morning or late-night trains. It also helps avoid confusion with directions, luggage, or language barriers.
  • By motorbike: Travelers who are comfortable riding in Da Nang can reach the station by motorbike and use the parking area near the entrance. Follow directions to Hai Phong Street and look for the old steam locomotive displayed in front of the station. Keep your parking ticket safe, especially if you plan to leave the motorbike there while traveling.
  • By walking: Walking is only recommended if your hotel or accommodation is very close to Hai Phong Street. Da Nang Railway Station is near the city center, but walking with luggage can be uncomfortable, especially during hot weather or rainy days. For most tourists, a short Grab or taxi ride is a better choice.

How To Buy The Train Tickets

  • Hotel Reception or Travel Agency: Simply visit the reception desk at your hotel or a nearby travel agency to inquire about tickets. They can assist with purchasing tickets for routes such as the train to Da Nang, Da Nang to Nha Trang, and Da Nang to Hue, ensuring you get the best train schedule to fit your travel plans.
  • The Train Station: Buying tickets at Da Nang station is simple. Enter the ticket office to the left of the main station, get a serial number from the machine inside the door, and wait for your order number to appear above the counter. The salesman will then assist you.
  • Book An E-ticket Online: Booking an e-ticket online is a convenient option for tech-savvy travellers. Visit the official Vietnam Railways website or use reputable online travel platforms to purchase tickets. Electronic tickets can be scanned directly at the station.
